Andre Boykins of the original Public Announcement has given Universal Music Group and R. Kelly Music a 15-day demand letter with intent to sue over the rights to “Sex Me,” the R. Kelly hit he says he co-wrote. The demand seeks co-writing credit and $650,000 in “Sex Me” royalties — part of a $1.25 million claim covering the 12 Play catalog — and warns of federal court if Universal does not answer. Universal has until Tuesday, November 24, 2026 — 15 days from this Monday — to respond.
