CHICAGO (CHICAGO URBAN DAILY)— Election Day is not the only thing happening in Chicago tonight. The city’s stages and screens are wide open — and one major festival starts today.

The First Nations Film and Video Festival opens today and runs through November 10 — and admission is free. It is a week of Indigenous film and video, right here in Chicago, and a rare chance to see work that rarely gets a big-city screen.

Over in Jefferson Park, the Cabaret Connexion Festival brings a night of French flair: performer Isabelle Georges presents “Oh là là !” at 7 p.m. at the Gateway Lounge of the Copernicus Center, followed by an International Song Fest sung in a dozen languages or more. The festival, which runs through November 8, celebrates cabaret traditions from Berlin to France to right here in Chicago.

Classical fans can catch CSO Chamber Music at the Driehaus Museum from 6:30 to 8 p.m. If you want something louder, Arch Enemy and The Black Dahlia Murder bring their Wrath Across North America tour to Concord Music Hall tonight. And for a low-key night out, The Office Trivia Night runs 7 to 9 p.m. at Snakes & Lattes.

Vote, then go out. Chicago gives you plenty of ways to spend the evening.
