CHICAGO URBAN DAILY NEWS — NEWS FLASH
CHICAGO (CHICAGO URBAN DAILY NEWS)— Nu Soul Super Producer Amir “King Seven” Shakur is building the band — and he’s building it in Chicago.
In a public call issued this week, Shakur announced he is assembling The LifeTones Band — a premier live collective blending inspirational hip-hop, cool jazz, soul, and steppers vibes — to carry his PUSH Music sound, Progressive Urban Soul Hip-Hop, from the studio to the stage.
The search is on for dedicated, passionate musicians to fill five chairs: brass and woodwinds (saxophone and trumpet), strings (bass, cello, and violin), keyboards and piano, drums and percussion, and background vocalists. “We’re creating dynamic, uplifted soundscapes and powerful live experiences,” the announcement reads, calling for professionalism, a strong work ethic, improvisation, groove, and stage presence.
The LifeTones are the live engine behind Shakur’s growing music slate, led by the forthcoming single “The Midnight Pocket” by Amir “King Seven” Shakur and the Lifetones, coming soon on King 7 Records.
Musicians in Chicago and the surrounding areas can apply by direct message or by emailing amirshakurspeaks@gmail.com with a link to a reel or portfolio. Let’s make history together.
Stay tuned to Chicago Urban Daily News for updates on the band, the single, and the first live dates.
