CHICAGO (CHICAGO URBAN DAILY)— Chicago’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration is in full swing this week, and the calendar is stacked from the city to the suburbs.
Thursday, October 8 belongs to Bell Works Chicagoland. “Sip, Shop, & Salsa” runs from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Bell Market — an evening of dancing, shopping, art, and cocktails celebrating Hispanic heritage. Arthur Murray Dance Studios leads a complimentary salsa class at 5:30 p.m., followed by social dancing at 6:30 p.m. The same night, Sundown Sessions with DJ Ian Gray runs 5 to 8 p.m. at Bar Bella.
Also on October 8, the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce hosts “Hispanic Heritage Month: A Conversation on Leadership, Culture & Opportunity” at the Pilsen Chamber Mural Park in the heart of Pilsen, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The panel brings together Hispanic business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders — including moderator Javier Yanez of the Pilsen Chamber of Commerce and speakers Teresa Magaña, Emidio Oceguera, Lotika Pai, and Margarita Quiñones Peña — to talk leadership, cultural identity, and economic opportunity.
And on Saturday, October 10, the monthly Bell Works Fresh Market runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with local makers, bakers, and live music.
Chicago’s Latino community has helped build this city’s soul. This week is a good time to show up and celebrate it.
