Amir A.H. Shakur: Voice of Chicago’s Urban Culture

Amir A.H. Shakur aka King Seven is an American Television & Radio Commentator and Journalist. He is also a Activist. He is the Editor-In-Chief of The Chicago Urban Daily News. He has worked with local and national publications, as well as developing documentary films.  Shakur was born in Chicagoland, in Illinois and grew up on the South Side. 

Shakur became a radio commentator in 1991. Starting in 1996, he hosted the talk show on WYCA in Chicago called Soul Uprising. For Several Years Shakur was a Contributing Journalist to the Huffington Post. In 2016 Shakur Founded Black America World News Network (BAWN).  After Shakur expanded to the Chicago Urban Daily.  Shakur then began hosting The Amir Shakur Speaks Show on Digital Air America Networks. He also hosted the show on the SAIR Broadcast Networks (SAIR) during weekdays. Shakur also owns a Fashion Line called Evolution Nation & Co a lifestyle brand.
